Avionics Installations and Upgrades

First Air has earned a reputation worldwide for installing aviation systems. We have completed many installations in Europe, Africa, and Canada including:

1996 First Air installs new Sundstrand solid state Flight Data Recorders in fleet of HS748.
1996 First Air upgrades 727-200 freighter to an 11 parameter Sundstrand Flight Data Recorder.
2000 First Air installs dual VHF Navigation system, mode c transponder, DME, Upgrade of the Attitude Director Indicator and a C-14 compass in Africa in a DHC-6.
2000 First Air installs in a B727 an ACAS, dual A/P coupled TNL-8100 GPS, Primus 90 Weather Radar, Dual 8.33KHz VHF Communication receivers, Dual FM immune Nav. Receivers.
2001 First Air completes the first ATR-42 combi modification in the world complete with Dual Freeflight A/P coupled GPS KHF 920 HF system, SELCAL, and a passenger briefing system.
2002 First Air installs an ACAS system in a L-382 Hercules.
2002 First Air installs dual Digital Air Data Computers with Servo Altimeters and a digital Altitude Alerter to qualify for RVSM in a B727.
2003 First Air qualifies B737 for RVSM with 737 Service Letter.
