Live Animals
First Air will accept your live animal on your flight for transport in the cabin or in the baggage compartment. Arrangements must be made a minimum of 24 hours prior to departure by contacting First Air Reservations at 1-800-267-1247. The number of animals accepted is limited per flight and may require the modification of your reservation to allow us to accommodate your pet.
- Dimensions of the kennel and weight of your pet must be given at the time of your call to Reservations.
- Containers must be leak-proof and must provide adequate ventilation for the animal. Metal wire cages will not be accepted for carriage. Containers must be large enough for your pet to stand, to turn around completely and to lie down, and are limited to one animal per container.
- Live animals will not be transferred onto another airline and arrangements must be made with the other carrier.
- First Air will not be responsible in the event of loss, delay, injury, sickness or death of any pet or animal accepted for transportation.
Pets in the Cabin
Your pet can travel with you in the cabin on most First Air flights provided it meets the following size criteria. Your pet must travel in its carrier under the seat in front of you. Pets in the cabin are not permitted on Twin otter and Beechcraft BE9 aircraft.
