About First Air

President's Message

Welcome aboard First Air ”The Airline of the North”

We enter 2010 with momentum and enthusiasm ready to embrace the opportunities and the challenges of the New Year. In addition to providing safe and efficient transportation services throughout the North, we have always recognized our important role in supporting the communities we serve through a range of sponsorships of events and initiatives.

Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami has declared 2010 the Year of the Inuit. This campaign is aimed at increasing awareness of Inuit culture and accomplishments among the general Canadian population. First Air is the marquee sponsor for this program, and we look forward to taking part in a variety of events throughout the year.

First Air is honoured to help promote Inuit arts and culture through our sponsorship of the play ‘Night’ at the National Arts Center (NAC) in Ottawa. We have supported this project since its conception with the youth theatre group in Pond Inlet and are pleased to help bring this project to a broader audience. It will mark the first time Inuktitut is spoken during a performance at the National Arts Centre.

In January, First Air is a diamond-level sponsor of the Northern Lights Trade Show in Montreal. This event promotes business development opportunities in the Eastern Arctic, as well as tourism, culture, and the arts.

In March, we will once again play a key role in the 21st Arctic Winter Games in Grande Prairie, Alberta. As a long time supporter of sport and youth in the North, First Air is once again flying athletes, family, and friends from all over the North to the games as they participate in this showcase of sport and culture.

First Air will continue to be a primary sponsor and major supporter of cultural, educational, sporting and charitable events across Northern Canada throughout 2010.

Thank you, and welcome aboard First Air, The Airline of the North.
