About First Air
President's Message
First Air – operating efficiently to serve you better
As the leader in Northern transportation, our goal is to translate operational efficiencies into tangible benefits for beneficiaries while continuing to deliver on our promise of service excellence. Those efficiencies are being realized through a number of new initiatives designed in response to the needs and demands of those we serve.
Last year at this time we introduced the Boeing 767 Super Freighter into our schedule, enhancing service for our cargo and mail customers. I am pleased to announce our most recent acquisition; two new ATR 72 combi aircraft will be joining our fleet by year end. These aircraft offer increased cargo and passenger capacity improving on the capacity of our proven ATR 42 combi aircraft.
Over the past year we have grown our route network to the point where we now serve more communities in the Arctic than any other airline including service to all points in the Kivalliq region of the central Arctic. On May 31st, we launched service to our newest destination Norman Wells in the Northwest Territories. The response to a new choice for air travel in Norman Wells and the surrounding area has been very positive.
With a stable and diverse fleet, responsive schedule and commitment to the communities we serve, First Air is well positioned for the future. Through offering efficient services, opportunities for economic development, meaningful employment and community reinvestment, First Air continues to be the leader in northern transportation services.
We value your support and thank you for making First Air, The Airline of the North.
